CNN’s Black in America was the highest rated program in its time slot for both nights, averaging 2.1 million viewers, 966,000 of whom were adults between 25 and 54, reports Nielsen Media Research. Some 900,000 were in the adults 18-49 demographic.
National Urban League CEO and President Marc Morial has released a statement “applauding” the “Black in America” documentary:
“As America looks at these issues, the focus should turn to solutions,” Morial said. “We need to work on getting Black Americans the education and healthcare services that they need to grow economically independent families. The Black Community deserves the right to go for the American Dream on an equal footing with the rest of the country.”
