Usher files for divorce??

Sources say Usher has filed divorce papers in Atlanta this morning. This is not the first time rumors have circulated that Usher and Tameka were heading towards splitsville, and now its been reported that they have been living apart for nearly a year. A source says, Usher's concern is his children, and he wants to do what is right for them. On a Kre-Note, Tameka is one of Celebrity Baby Talks favorite mommys, and I must say her interaction, or lack of on Twitter with Usher is what gave me the impression all wasn't right. I'm all for privacy, especially on Twitter, but even a simple hello to wifey on Twitter is harmless. Look at Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, Ashton and Demi, and even Cocktail and Ray J, though she just admitted it was fake and for cameras since Ray J is on to season 2.

Mariah says no no noooooooooo!

Do you guys remember music producer Damion "Damizza" Young? I sure do! A ways back he was making big time power moves in the rap game as a producers and eventually executive. Well, dude has a new book coming out called "Guilty By Association." From what I know to be actual and factual, Mariah Carey, by way of her lawyer, is attempting to block the release of the book with a cease and desist notice! Apparently, Damizza has done some work as a producer for Mariah and in the book, he plans to talk about it. I THINK Mariah has contractual provisions preventing anybody that works with her to talk about her personally or even professionally. That rules out a book by Nick Cannon, eh?

This is what I think may have prompted Mariah’s people to fire that letter off:

While entire chapters are dedicated to Dre, Snoop, Mariah, Warren G., Eminem, Ludacris and Jay-Z, readers will be hard pressed to come up with a famous name that does not play at least a passing role in "Guilty By Association." Axl Rose, Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Quincy Jones, Paris Hilton, Prince, Tobey McGuire, Tony Bennett, Hulk Hogan, Michael and Janet Jackson, Tommy Lee & Pamela Anderson, David Lee Roth, Harry Belafonte, Puffy, Jermaine Dupri, Nas, The Game, 50 Cent, Suge Knight, Tupac, Biggie … the list literally goes on for pages … a manic trip that finally pulls over at the side of the road for a little "breather" at the Betty Ford Center.

Vibe don't like white people! Well just Eminem

“When I did a recent interview with Vibe Magazine I asked, ‘Why can’t I get the cover? This is a magazine I love. If there’s one magazine that I’d want to be on the cover of, it’s Vibe,” Thicke told Billboard. “Their response was they don’t have white artists on the cover; that the only white artist they’ve had on the cover was Eminem. I guess if that’s what it is, it is what it is.”

“I respect that because I live in a house with a black woman. I won’t use the word racism. I will say it’s a tough — but rewarding — fight.”
Danyel Smith, Vibe vice president, responded to Thicke’s comments, but didn’t deny them either:

“We have a great deal of respect for Robin Thicke and his music, and we remain flattered by his desire to be on a Vibe cover,” said Smith. “A Vibe cover is a huge milestone in any artist’s career. Recent cover stars include Young Jeezy, Mariah Carey, 50 Cent, Usher, Senator Barack Obama, Eminem, Lil Wayne, and Robert De Niro, to say nothing of our 15-year history. We wish Thicke the best, and were glad he discusses his thoughts on race and R&B in the new October 2008 issue of Vibe.”

Da Brat gets 3 years imprisonment?!?!?

Da Brat is headed to da slammer.

On Friday, the 34-year-old rapper (born Shawntae Harris) was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to hitting a hostess in the head with a rum bottle, according to the Associated Press.

She was also sentenced to seven years probation, 200 hours of community service and completion of substance abuse treatment, mental evaluation and anger management classes.

The rapper and a half-dozen family members all broke down after hearing the sentence.

"I love y'all," she said to her relatives as a deputy hauled her away, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution reports.

"We love you too," her family replied in unison.

See unforgettable celebrity mug shots.

Da Brat — who was among the select few who attended Mariah Carey's surprise April wedding to Nick Cannon in the Bahamas — was at a Halloween bash at an Atlanta club last fall when she got into a fight with then-Atlanta Falcons cheerleader Shayla Stevens, who was working as a hostess.

The rapper then took a nearly full bottle of rum and hit Stevens, who now has a permanent scar on her face as a result.

In 2000, Da Brat was arrested after she struck a woman at a bar. She was sentenced to 12 months of probation.

Miley Cyrus will start at No. 1 on Billboard

Keith Caulfield, L.A.

Miley Cyrus will land her second No. 1 album on The Billboard 200 tomorrow (July 30), as "Breakout" (Hollywood) bows with 371,000 U.S. copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That's the second-biggest sales week of the year for a female artist, following the 463,000 debut of Mariah Carey's "E=MC2" (Island/IDJMG).

Cyrus' last album, the half soundtrack, half studio set "Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus" (Hollywood/Walt Disney), started at No. 1 last summer with 326,000.

The first "Hanna Montana" soundtrack, which launched her recording career, also bowed at No. 1 in 2006, with first-week sales of 281,000. It went on to be the best seller of that year's fourth quarter with less than three months of shelf life.

Debuting in the runner-up slot on The Billboard 200 is country duo Sugarland with the deluxe version of "Love on the Inside" (314,000). It's easily the Mercury Nashville act's best sales week and highest charting album ever. The band's previous high came with 2006's "Enjoy the Ride," which debuted and peaked at No. 4 with 211,000.

Sugarland also enjoys the best sales week for any country act since the Eagles' "Long Road Out of Eden" (ERC) shifted 359,000 in its second week of release last fall.

Sugarland has another reason to celebrate, as "Love on the Inside" becomes its first No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart. The duo's first two sets, "Twice the Speed of Life" and "Enjoy the Ride," peaked at Nos. 3 and 2, respectively.

Next week will mark an interesting sales test, as the standard edition of "Love on the Inside" bowed in stores today (July 29); those sales will be merged with the deluxe edition's total next week. The standard edition lacks five bonus tracks found on the deluxe version.
